Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 14, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Deadclaim Studios (“we”) collects, uses, and protects information when you use DEADCLAIM, the thedeadclaim.com website, and related services (the “Services”). We aim to collect as little as we need to run a good game.

1. Information We Collect

  • Account data. When you sign in through a third-party provider such as Steam, we receive a unique identifier and basic public profile information (such as your display name and avatar). We never receive your Steam password.
  • Gameplay data. Progression, statistics, settings, and technical data needed to operate matchmaking, anti-cheat, and saves.
  • Technical data. Device, operating system, crash reports, performance diagnostics, and IP address (used for connection and abuse prevention).
  • Website data. Basic, privacy-respecting analytics and the strictly necessary cookies described in our Cookie Policy.
  • Communications. Information you provide when you contact support or join community channels.

2. How We Use Information

  • To operate, maintain, and improve the Services;
  • To authenticate accounts and verify game ownership;
  • To enable multiplayer, matchmaking, and anti-cheat;
  • To diagnose crashes, fix bugs, and measure performance;
  • To respond to support requests and communicate updates; and
  • To protect against fraud, abuse, and security threats.

3. Legal Bases

Where the GDPR or similar laws apply, we process personal data on the bases of performing our contract with you (providing the game), legitimate interests (security, improvement), consent (optional analytics where required), and legal obligations.

4. Sharing of Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:

  • Service providers that host and operate the Services on our behalf (for example, cloud hosting and content delivery), under confidentiality obligations;
  • Platforms such as Steam, to the extent needed for sign-in, ownership, and store features;
  • Authorities when required by law or to protect rights, safety, and security.

If you play on a self-hosted server, the operator of that server may receive connection information (such as your IP and in-game name) necessary to run the server. Those servers are not controlled by us.

5. Data Retention

We keep personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes above, then delete or anonymize it. Account and progression data is retained while your account is active.

6. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact privacy@thedeadclaim.com. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

7. Children's Privacy

The Services are not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

8. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. International Transfers

We may process and store information in countries other than your own. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted here with a new date.
